In a letter to Gamestop thanking staff for their hard work pushing pre-orders, the Assassin's Creed 3 team reveal plans to introduce post-launch episodic content, according to Kotaku.
"What's next? We are currently in the process of creating a complementary development team that will begin working on post-launch episodic content to continue the Game of the Year experience that Assassin's Creed 3 will undoubtedly deliver," the letter reads.
"With a dedicated team specifically to this content we plan to set the bar for quality DLC in our industry.
"We know you're familiar with the 'Season Pass' concept and, beginning shortly, we'll start to take pre-orders of our very own."
Announced in February, Assassin's Creed 3 will take place over a 30-year period in colonial America beginning in 1777.
It features a brand new lead named Connor, the offspring of an English father and Native American mother.
PlayStation Vita spinoff Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation was announced at this year's E3 Gaming Expo.
Assassin's Creed 3 and Liberation will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on October 31 worldwide.
