Kuju Entertainment is currently assessing whether to shut down Czech studio Vatra Games.

Rumours of the studio's closure began circulating recently, prompting Kuju Entertainment to respond with a statement.

"The new management team at Kuju have been conducting a strategic review of all aspects of the business. As part of this process, the ongoing business activities of the Vatra studio are currently under review. However, at this stage no decisions have yet been made," the company said.

Vatra Games was formed in 2009 by former 2K Czech employees as a subsidiary of Kuju Entertainment.

The studio secured a partnership with Konami, developing the downloadable title Rush 'n Attack: Ex Patriot.

Vatra's most recent game Silent Hill: Downpour was met with a mixed reaction from fans and critics alike.

The studio was said to be working on a new God of War-style action game, however, development of that title has reportedly ceased.
