The upcoming sequel will be available for the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 from Friday, October 19. It will also launch for a number of mobile and handheld devices.
Announced earlier this year, the game introduces 20 new collectable figures, including eight giant toys, which are more than twice the size of regular models.
Eight regular-sized Skylanders will also be released with the game, as well as a number of new figures that contain special in-game bonuses and light up when near a Portal of Power.
The game sees players battle the Arkeyans with characters such as Swarm, a giant wasp-like creature who grew too large for his hive after absorbing a mysterious magical element.
All models from the previous instalment will be supported, and the game will also be compatible with Skylanders: Spyro's Universe, the massively-multiplayer online spinoff.
It is a sequel to last year's Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, which makes use of a portal peripheral, recreating toys in-game when placed on top of the device.
