Three months in the making, the speed-run was completed by a four-player team without cheats, modifications or hacking.
The attempt, named 'Portal Done Pro-er', has beaten the previous fastest speed-run attempt by 53 seconds.
"This run first started after the discovery of a new glitch, which snowballed into a whirlwind of discoveries of new tricks, skips, and glitches," revealed the team.
"We started running chambers in April, took a brief hiatus, and then resumed work in late June. The bulk of the run was completed in about two weeks' time."
It was noted that any stuttering in the video signifies the start of one of the 24 segments that compose the video.
One of the creators of the original Portal, Kim Swift, went on to create downloadable puzzle title Quantum Conundrum.
