The update arrives on the opening day of the London 2012 Olympics, with the app set to feature all 24 events that will be broadcast simultaneously.
Launching in May, the service has provided PS3 owners with live footage of Formula One and Wimbledon.
The app, which is still in beta, is set to be updated with more content throughout the Olympics.
It can be downloaded from the 'My Channels' icon in the TV / Video Services area of the PS3 main menu.
The official BBC Olympics phone app has seen over half a million downloads.
