"Hope the TM fans out there have dug some of the 'what could have been' stuff from what I am fairly certain will be the last Twisted Metal game made. At least for a very, very long time!"

The latest game in the series is released in February throughout North America, with a European release following in March.

David Jaffe announced that he was leaving studio Eat Sleep Play once post-production on Twisted Metal was finished.

He has since revealed two alternative endings for Sweet Tooth, one of which would have involved the killer clown sparing a victim's life, until the project was given an M (mature) age rating.

A Twisted Metal movie has been announced by Sony, which will follow the story of the games, revolving around the underground vehicular combat tournament run by the sinister Calypso. Characters including Sweet Tooth and Dollface are believed to be appearing in the film.

Twisted Metal is Sony's long-running car combat series, launching in 1995 on the PlayStation.
