'Resident Evil 6' team to fix camera issues, demo problems

By
Resident Evil 6 producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi has promised to address complaints levelled at the game's recent demo.

The Resident Evil 6 team will attempt to fix Xbox 360 screen tear and universal camera issues up until the game's launch.

"There were certain things that gamers felt stressed about," Hirabayashi told IGN.

"One of the main concerns was the camera. We decided that was one thing we had to fix, that we had to work on that camera – we're actually working on that right now.

"We want to make sure that camera doesn't interfere with your gameplay experience," he added.

In addition to fine-tuning screen tear issues and other minor problems, Hirabayashi also addressed the game's pacing, after some criticised the lack of action in Leon's sequence compared to the overwhelming number of enemies in scenes involving Chris and Jake.

"There are things we wanted to try with Resident Evil 6, and we want to show players what we're trying to do.

"We're trying to bring them a new experience, and hopefully they'll give it a chance.

"Hopefully when they give the full game a chance, they'll have a better understanding of what we're trying to accomplish," Hirabayashi explained.

Announced earlier this year, Resident Evil 6 is set 15 years after the Raccoon City incident and takes place in the infected town of Tall Oaks, as well as China.

Yesterday Capcom confirmed an unlockable Ada Wong campaign and unveiled a Left 4 Dead-inspired 'Agent Hunt' mode.

The game is Capcom's largest ever production, with more than 600 staff involved in its development.

Resident Evil 6 will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 2. A PC release will follow, but has not yet been dated.
