FIFA 13, Mass Effect 3, Madden 13 to be Wii U launch titles

By
FIFA 13, Mass Effect 3 and Madden 13's Wii U features have been revealed by EA.

The games, which will be available from day one on Nintendo's new system, all offer exclusive features through the Wii U GamePad.

FiFA 13's touchscreen features, which were revealed in full earlier this week, offers more precise and accessible team control.

Players will be able to easily switch defenders during the game by simply tapping on the desired player using the controller's touchscreen. Tapping on an attacking player can then either man mark him or perform a tackle.

The touchscreen can also be used for passing the ball, enabling longer passes and more control.

Meanwhile, Madden 13 will feature the ability to draw plays and player paths using the touch screen, as well as enhancements brought over from the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 version like improved passing and the Connected Careers mode.

Finally, Mass Effect 3 will include all available DLC, including multiplayer content and the Extended Cut Ending DLC, from the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC versions.

It will also feature a new control scheme which uses the touchscreen as a map or for quick access to character abilities.

"We challenged our teams to develop innovations designed specifically for the Wii U, and to create new ways to play that would bring players of all abilities together," said head of EA Sports Andrew Wilson.

"Our teams have truly delivered creative new football experiences with FIFA 13 and Madden NFL 13 for the Wii U."

Nintendo has not confirmed a final launch date for the Wii U, but it will be arrive before the end of the year.
