The new gameplay trailer features new footage of the game's post-apocalyptic world and scenes taken from the E3 demo.
Announced at last year's Spike TV VGAs, The Last of Us follows two survivors in a world turned upside down by a fungus-like virus.
The adventure will be set in a more colourful world than other post-apocalyptic games, using overgrown vegetation in cities to add variety.
Both gunplay and melee combat will play an important part in the game, with weapons breaking after continued use, requiring the player to find new items regularly.
Work on the project began after Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and it has been in development for over two years.
The development team previously announced that the game would not support co-operative multiplayer.
