The gameplay trailer shows footage from both the single player campaign and multiplayer modes, which appears to include the fan favourite Nuke Town map.
Black Ops - Declassified on Vita will feature single play covert missions taking place between the events of Call of Duty: Black Ops and the upcoming sequel Black Ops 2.
Multiplayer will support up to eight players over Wi-Fi in familiar modes including team deathmatch, kill confirmed, drop zone and more. It will also feature all of the class customisation, perks and prestige levels that fans have come to expect from the series.
"We'll have a variety of game modes and maps, including some that are custom made for PS Vita and others that leverage fan favourites from the Black Ops series, but tailor made for PS Vita," said Activision's Neven Dravinski.
The PS Vita's hardware capabilities are being put to work for unique features, such as using the touch screen for melee attacks and throwing grenades. Players can also share weapon and perk loadouts with their friends through the system's Near feature.
Call of Duty: Black Ops - Declassified will be available on PlayStation Vita this November.
Sony has also revealed that the game will be packaged with a limited edition PS Vita hardware bundle, with more details and a price to be announced soon.
