The platforming sequel will only be available on Nintendo's next home console during its launch period later this year.
"We weren't really sure at E3, but it's going to be Wii U-only at launch," senior brand manager Michael Micholic told Digital Spy.
"We don't know what else is going to happen [with other consoles]. I can't say it won't launch on something else, but at launch it's a Wii U exclusive."
Ubisoft originally did not rule out a multi-platform release for the title.
The title was officially revealed during Ubisoft's E3 press conference.
The game features new playable characters such as Murphy, who is controlled using the next-generation console's tablet controller.
Players swipe the tablet's screen to control Murphy, using him to clear a path for Rayman to traverse and take out enemies.
