'LittleBigPlanet 2' costumes will be cross-compatible

By
Media Molecule has revealed that LittleBigPlanet 2 costumes will be cross-compatible with LittleBigPlanet Vita and LittleBigPlanet Karting.

The costumes will not all be cross-compatible at the launch of either game, but Media Molecule plans to make them available before the end of the year.

"To be able to provide Sackboy with his full range of downloadable costumes for LittleBigPlanet PS Vita and LittleBigPlanet Karting, we literally had to rebuild all of these costumes from scratch again for each game," Media Molecule said.

"Meaning that there were more than 270 costumes that we had to lovingly hand-knit and sew in the way that only our teams of eager costume designers know how.

"You will receive a good selection of costumes at launch and then updates to your game in two batches, and we plan to bring you right up to date no later than December 2012."

However, not all costumes will make the transition to the new games. Specifically, the Ezio Auditore costume from Assassin's Creed Revelations, the Ezio Auditore costume from Assassin's Creed 2 and the April Fools Fragrance costume will not be cross-compatible with LittleBigPlanet Karting.

The three costumes are the only ones revealed that will not be transferable, though they will still be cross-compatible with LittleBigPlanet Vita.

LittleBigPlanet Karting will launch for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in North America on November 6, followed by Europe on November 7 and a UK release on November 9.

LittleBigPlanet Vita will be available on September 19 in Europe and September 25 for North America. It will also launch as a bundle with a PS Vita system.
