SCEE's Ross McGrath offered confirmation of the game's release date on the European PlayStation Blog, revealing that it will launch on PSN alongside Double Dragon Neon.
Machinarium first released on PC in 2009 and won the 'Excellence in Visual Art' award at the 12th Independent Games Festival.
Versions of the game were also in development at one point for Xbox 360 and Wii, but have been dropped due to a "bad experience" with Microsoft and file size restrictions on WiiWare.
The game was seemingly confirmed for a PlayStation Vita release last month when the ESRB website listed it for the platform. Creator Jakub Dvorsky downplayed the leak, claiming that a handheld port is still under consideration.
Machinarium for PS3 is said to be the "ultimate" edition of the point-and-click adventure game.
