Square Enix has announced CoreOnline, a new cloud gaming service.
CoreOnline is a free-to-play service featuring games from Square Enix's publishing library. Games are playable directly through the CoreOnline site in a web browser, with no need for specific hardware.
Users are given an hour of play time, and can earn more time to use with any game by watching advertisements. There is also the option to pay for individual levels or the full game for users who wish to skip the ads.
CoreOnline has launched with two titles, Hitman: Blood Money and Mini Ninjas. The service also promises that Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Tomb Raider: Underworld and Gyromancer will be available soon.
"We're delighted to be adding Hitman: Blood Money to the CoreOnline service," said studio manager David Guldbrandsen.
"Together with those titles already announced – and there are lots more to come – we're really looking forward to seeing the service grow."
