Steam Greenlight allows developers to submit their games - whether in an early or late stage in development - and receive feedback from users. Much like Steam Workshop, users will also be able to rate games through Steam Greenlight to determine which games they would like to see published on Steam.
Games that are highly rated have a chance to get an official release through Steam, though there is no set number of votes required for a game to get released.
Within an hour, Steam Greenlight had already received over 200 game submissions.
Users will not be able to play games submitted through Steam Greenlight, instead judging the titles based on trailers, screenshots and a written description submitted by the developer.
The new service is available now for users to start voting on games.
