Beamdog revealed that the additional polishing the game requires will prevent it from meeting its previously scheduled launch date of September 18.
"After recently reviewing the game and then consulting with our partners, we've decided to ensure that Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is the best possible product on launch. Thus, we have pushed back the release date of the game," said studio head Trent Oster.
Customers who pre-ordered will be treated to "something special" as an apology for the delay, Oster added.
The game includes more than 400 improvements over the 13-year-old original, including a renovated interface, online multiplayer, new story cinematics and features that were not introduced until Baldur's Gate 2 like new sub-races, classes and class kits.
Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition will now be released for PC, Mac and iPad on November 30.
