Developer Dontnod Entertainment's creative director Jean-Maxime Moris confirmed that the action-adventure title will feature 50,000 different combos through a customisation mechanic dubbed the Combo Lab.
Amnesiac protagonist Nilin will remember new moves, dubbed Pressens, as the game progresses and players will be able to tailor these abilities according to their preferred play style.
Players can combos from four types of Pressens - Regen for replenishing health, Power for extra damage, Cooldown and Chain. There are also five 'S-Pressens', which essentially act as superpowers.
Moris assures fans the the Combo Lab will be user-friendly and pose no risk to the gameplay balance.
"That would be the case if you had all these Pressens, all of these combos and all of the S-Pressens from the start, which you don't," he said during a developer session. "All of these are unlocked progressively throughout the game.
"You won't spend that much time in the Combo Lab. The pacing of the combat would be really weird if that was the case. You will start with 10 or 12 Pressens and three or four combos. From there you can build from up to 24 Pressens and five S-Pressens.
"Every time we introduce a new enemy into the game, you will have new stuff to do and new Pressens and S-Pressens to face the situation."
Remember Me will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in May 2013.
