Starting in 1996 on PlayStation and Sega Saturn, the series has seen multiple main entries and spin-offs.
Starting with a classic isometric viewpoint and traditional zombies, the series has since introduced a multitude of creatures and covered several genres, from light-gun games to most recently third-person action-adventures.
Resident Evil 6 is available now on Xbox 360 and PS3. It will be released on PC next month.
