Following the success of NBA Europe Live 2006, which managed to draw more than 36 million viewers and 115,000 spectators, games publisher Electronic Arts has drawn up plans for the event to return this year.
NBA Europe Live 2007 will see basketball teams across Europe competing in a tournament aimed at promoting both the sport and the video game NBA Live 2007, set for release in October.
Jan Bolz, Vice President, International Sales and Marketing at EA, said, "We share a passion with our partners at the NBA to bring the world’s best basketball to Europe. After the great success of last year’s event, we’re excited to continue to be ambassadors for NBA basketball and for the opportunity to showcase NBA LIVE on the largest of stages. NBA Europe Live presented by EA Sports creates an authentic platform for fans of all ages to enjoy real life and virtual basketball experiences across the continent.”
Britain will host one of the NBA Europe Live 2007 games at the O2 arena in London on October 10, where the Boston Celtics will play the Minnesota Timberwolves.
