Visceral Games hiring for PC MOBA title

By
Visceral Games has listed a number of job openings suggesting that it is developing a new free-to-play MOBA-style game for PC.

The studio listed a job on the Gamasutra jobs board for a game designer with "work experience on MOBA, Action RTS, Action RPG or Related Genres".

Visceral Games also recently posted job openings for a global community manager to work with EA's Play4Free publishing team and a character artist for an upcoming PC game.

The studio is only known to be working on the multiplatform action-horror sequel Dead Space 3 at the moment, suggesting that the new positions would be for a new title. If all the jobs are for the same project, it appears that Visceral Games's next title could be a free-to-play PC game in a style similar to DOTA 2 or League of Legends.

Electronic Arts has made an increasing push toward free-to-play games through its Play4Free label, with titles like Battlefield Heroes and Need for Speed World. Earlier this year, the publisher also announced that the new Command & Conquer game will be free-to-play.

Dead Space 3 was announced at this year's E3, bringing a strong co-op focus to the series with players able to drop in and out of online sessions at will.

Dead Space 3 will be available for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on February 5 in North America and February 8 in Europe.
