Downloadable content includes the 'Rhino Challenge Pack', the 'Oscorp Search and Destroy Pack', the 'Lizard Rampage Pack' and the 'Stan Lee Adventure Pack', which was initially available as a pre-order bonus.
The 'Stan Lee Pack' features a mission where the writer must collect pages of his latest script using Spider-Man's abilities.
The Wii U version will contain optional motion controls, while the Gamepad can be used to navigate a path through the city and access menu items.
The game is developed by Beenox Studios, the team behind Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and Spider-Man: Edge of Time. Its debut trailer was shown at the Spike Video Game Awards in December 2011.
The Amazing Spider-Man released earlier this year to coincide with the movie of the same name, starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans.
