Square Enix bringing AAA game to Wii U next year?

By
Rumours indicate that Square Enix has plans to bring one of its major franchises to Wii U next year.

The LinkedIn profile for Straight Right technical project manager Chris Slater revealed that the studio is working with Square Enix on "porting a triple-A Square Enix game to the yet-to-be-released Wii U platform".

The profile has since been altered to remove all mention of Square Enix, but not before being spotted and recorded via a NeoGAF post.

Straight Right is a studio already gaining experience in porting games to the Wii U; it is currently developing the Wii U version of Mass Effect 3.

Tomb Raider is thought to be a likely candidate for the rumoured Wii U port. However, earlier this year Crystal Dynamics Karl Stewart flatly denied a Wii U version saying that it would need to be rebuilt from the ground up for Nintendo's hardware.

Other likely possibilities include Hitman Absolution, the recently released Sleeping Dogs or last year's Deus Ex Human Revolution.

Hitman Absolution is the publisher's next game to arrive, releasing on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC from November 20 worldwide.

Tomb Raider will arrive next year, releasing on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC worldwide from March 5, 2013.
