Games out this month: 10 biggest releases for November

October was a busy month for games, but November kicks it up a notch with the launch of Football Manager 2013, Halo 4, Black Ops 2 the release of Nintendo's new home console the Wii U, and much more. Wallets at the ready!

Football Manager 2013

Release date: November 2 (worldwide)
Platforms: PC, Mac

Sports Interactive's best-selling football management simulation returns with a bevy of new features, including the back-to-basics Classic Mode, an improved 3D match engine and the scenario-based Challenge mode.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted

Release date: November 2 (Europe), October 30 (North America)
Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, PC

Need for Speed: Most Wanted takes its inspiration from Criterion's much-loved Burnout Paradise, offering single and multiplayer open-world racing backed up with the Autolog social challenge system.

WWE 13

Release date: November 2nd (Europe), October 30 (North America)
Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, Wii

This latest wrestling release draws from the federation's Attitude Era for a new game mode that replaces the traditional 'Road to Wrestlemania' campaign, revisiting the era of Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Degeneration-X and the Ministry of Darkness.

Halo 4

Release date: November 6 (worldwide)
Platforms: Xbox 360

The return of Microsoft's blockbuster franchise starts another trilogy of adventures. In the campaign, Master Chief dusts himself off to fight a mysterious new enemy threatening the galaxy, multiplayer becomes sharper and faster, while Spartan Ops mode offers new episodic co-operative challenges over the coming months.

Black Ops 2

Release date: November 13 (worldwide)
Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, PC

The best-selling shooter franchise returns with a sequel to 2011 instalment Black Ops, ushering in a near-future setting new to Call of Duty for both its campaign and multiplayer. It also introduces new features, including branching story choices and an eSports focus and more customisation in multiplayer.

F1 Race Stars

Release date: November 16 (Europe), November 13 (North America)
Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, PC

This arcade-racing spinoff features all the official drivers, teams and courses from the 2012 FIA Formula One Championships, but with a cartoon-style visual approach. Authentic race tracks will be transformed into over-the-top tracks littered with loop-the-loops, short-cuts, ramps and themed obstacles, such as swimming pools in Monaco and bullet trains in Japan.


Hitman: Absolution

Release date: November 20 (worldwide)
Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, PC (November 25)

The first new Hitman game in six years, Hitman: Absolution will offer a more personal story, improved enemy intelligence, a new 'Instinct' mode that will help players blend into certain roles and the multiplayer-styled 'Contracts' mode.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

Release date: November 21 (Europe), November 20 (North America)
Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, PC (November 25)

This Super Smash Bros.-styled fighter pits Sony's biggest heroes against each other, from Nathan Drake to Ratchet, Sackboy and Fat Princess, alongside third party characters Dante from Devil May Cry and Raiden from Metal Gear Solid.


Far Cry 3

Release date: November 30 (Europe), December 4 (North America)
Platforms: Xbox 360, PS3, PC

Far Cry 3 sees the return of Ubisoft's shooter series, shifting the action from the African plains of the second game back to the lush tropical island setting of the early titles, thrusting players into another seemingly hopeless situation in which they must survive warring pirates, wild animals and sheer madness to get their one-way ticket out of paradise.

Wii U

Release date: November 30 (Europe), November 18 (North America)

Nintendo's successor to the Wii offers a brand new HD console and a tablet controller to play games with, retailing from £250 for a basic model and£300 for the Premium package. Launch titles include New Super Mario Bros. U, Nintendo Land, Zombi U, FIFA 13 and Black Ops 2.
