Duncan Jones: "I'd make an XCOM movie"

Duncan Jones has told his Twitter followers that he would love to make a movie adaptation of sci-fi game series XCOM.

The Moon and Source Code director said that he is a huge fan of the new game in the series, describing it as a "near-perfect updating of a classic".



He also tweeted: "*Whispers* If anyone wanted to make an XCOM movie, I'd do it..."

When a follower suggested whether he might prefer to watch it rather than direct it so he could enjoy it more, Jones replied: "Depends who it was. If it was the right person (@ghuwevans) then I would rather watch!" He was referring to Gareth Evans, director of The Raid.

The XCOM series began on the PC in 1994 with UFO: Enemy Unknown and has spawned nine sequels. The strategy game sees players lead a band of elite paramilitary agents (nicknamed XCOM) against alien invaders.
