Some retailers have reportedly begun distributing special items for pre-order customers which were intended to be withheld for another week, according to GTAGaming.
The alleged pre-order item is a miniature slide viewer, which includes five slide teasing locations from the game.
The revealed areas include Zancudo River, Vespucci Canals, Del Perro Pier, Vinewood Hills and Grapeseed. Not much is known about the locations, though Grapeseed seems to resemble California's Napa Valley and Vinewood Hills appears to be a play on the Hollywood Hills.
Announced last year, Grand Theft Auto 5 is thought to follow the exploits of lead character Albert De Silva, played by Ned Luke.

Set in Los Santos, which is loosely based on present-day Southern California, the game is said to take place in "the largest and most thriving game-world" that Rockstar has ever created.
Grand Theft Auto 5 was recently announced for a spring 2013 release, which Rockstar has now confirmed will be after March.
