Seven active Navy SEALs have been disciplined for their involvement in the game Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

Billed as an authentic modern war game, Electronic Arts brought both active and retired military on as paid consultants, including seven members of SEAL Team Six.

CBS News reports that the seven SEALs were disciplined for allegedly revealing secrets during development, though it is unknown what manner of confidential information was revealed and whether that information was used in the final game.

The SEALs are reportedly still on active duty, having received letters of reprimand and had half their pay taken away for two months. An additional four SEALs, who have since transferred to another unit, are reportedly now also under investigation due to their involvement with the game.

SEAL Team Six is perhaps the best known Navy SEAL unit for the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. One of the disciplined SEALs was reportedly a member of that raid.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter released last month on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
