'DmC: Devil May Cry' Vergil's Downfall DLC chapter announced

By
Capcom has announced a DLC story chapter for DmC: Devil May Cry titled Vergil's Downfall.

The add-on will let players control Dante's brother Vergil in a complete story chapter explaining his actions prior to the main game's events.

Vergil's Downfall will feature different controls, combos and weapons for a unique gameplay experience along with new enemies and environments not seen in the main storyline.

Vergil's Downfall will arrive some time after the game launches - no release date has been set - for 720 MS Points on Xbox Live and £7.29 ($8.99) on PSN.

In North America, users who pre-order DmC: Devil May Cry through GameStop will receive a free download code for the expansion as a pre-order bonus. This is in addition to the retailer-specific pre-order bonuses Capcom had previously announced.

DmC: Devil May Cry will reboot the franchise, shifting the setting to a parallel universe with a younger, grittier Dante.

Dante will also partner with new character Kat, a skilled medium and psychic who guides Dante through her ability to see into Limbo, the demon realm.

The game is being developed by Ninja Theory, the team behind Enslaved: Odyssey To The West.

DmC: Devil May Cry is released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 15, 2013. A PC version is also in development, which will release later in 2013.
