Kat's fighting style will make use of her gravity powers for lots of aerial attacks, while Emmeret will use his signature weapons from the game as well as Starhawk's build-in-battle system to call for air support to drop into the arena.

The two characters will be available to download in early 2013, and will be available for free to all users for the first two weeks after they release.

Once downloaded for free, the characters are yours to keep, so those who don't even own the game yet might still want to download the characters at that time. Sony has not announced how the characters will be priced after the two weeks of free availability.

The DLC characters will join the game's roster of 20 playable fighters from PlayStation's top franchises, including Ratchet, Sackboy, Jak, Fat Princess, Sly Cooper, Dante from Devil May Cry, Colonel Radec from Killzone, Parappa the Rapper, Kratos from God of War, Nathan Drake from Uncharted, Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal, the Big Daddy from Bioshock, both good and evil Cole from Infamous and Raiden from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

Sony announced at gamescom 2012 that PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will enable the Cross-Buy feature, giving users a free copy of the game on PlayStation 3 or Vita when purchased for the other system.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale's release date was previously hit with a delay, and will now release on November 20 in North America and on November 23 in the UK.
