'DmC: Devil May Cry' demo available today

By
DmC: Devil May Cry is receiving a playable demo today for download on Xbox Live and PSN.

The demo will let players fight through two missions, one of which is a boss battle against the Succubus.

It will offer three difficulty levels for the missions, plus an additional unlockable 'Son of Sparda' difficulty for an even greater challenge. In the demo, players will have access to Dante's sword, scythe and axe weapons as well as dual pistols.

DmC: Devil May Cry will reboot the franchise, shifting the setting to a parallel universe with a younger, grittier Dante.

Dante will also partner with new character Kat, a skilled medium and psychic who guides Dante through her ability to see into Limbo, the demon realm.

The game is being developed by Ninja Theory, the team behind Enslaved: Odyssey To The West.

Also announced is the game's first DLC, titled Vergil's Downfall, which will be available some time after the game's release.

DmC: Devil May Cry is released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 15, 2013. A PC version is also in development, which will release later in 2013.

The demo is available today on Xbox Live worldwide and PSN in North America. It will arrive on PSN in Europe tomorrow (November 21).
