GAME has announced plans to sell Steam voucher codes in-store.

GAME's partnership with Valve's digital platform Steam will see the retailer sell Steam vouchers in £5, £10, £15 and £20 denominations.

Once purchased, the vouchers can be added to accounts using a one-time activation code.

Customers will be able to browse the entire catalogue of Steam games by using a range of in-store tablets before making their purchase.

"This is the latest initiative offering unrivalled value, range and ease of obtaining digital content for our UK gaming community," explained GAME CEO Martyn Gibbs.

"We are delighted to be partnering with Steam as we look to grow our PC gaming communities together.

"The partnership forms a significant part of our increased offering for any PC gamer which will also include a full digital catalogue available on tablets in store to browse and new ways to pay for digital downloads, making the process easier and more secure than ever."

Gibbs recently insisted that the retailer is in "good shape", despite the crisis enveloping Comet.

Comet, which is owned by the same group that saved GAME from bankruptcy, has recently slipped into administration.

Despite the link to GAME, the retailer has enough money to trade through Christmas, and is reportedly in a position to earn £20 million by the end of the financial year.
