"DOA 5's arrival on new hardware will bring new players to the existing communities and our loyal and hardcore fans can brush up their skills and practise wherever they want," said Hayashi.

Full details about the game will be released at a later date, but it was confirmed that it will come with new features, some of which will be added to the home console versions via a downloadable patch.

Dead or Alive 5 was released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 25 in North America and on September 28 in Europe.

The game received generally positive reviews and sold more than half a million copies in its first month on the market.
