Since late December, Wii owners wishing to surf the Internet have been able to download a trial version of the Opera PC browser.
Following 'substantial' feedback from users, Nintendo developers have made a number of improvements to the final version and plan to release it next month.
The browser, which will remain free to Wii owners until the end of June, will feature improved zooming and scrolling, quicker access to favourites, an ability to hide the toolbar, shorter startup times and buttons that will type preset letters such as 'www' and '.com'.
After June, users who have not already downloaded the Opera browser will have to pay 500 Wii points for the privilege when it goes on sale on the Wii Shop Channel.
