The console's Panorama View app will come with a range of platform-specific features, including GamePad-controlled Street View navigation.
Panorama View also enables users to explore locations using the controller's gyro and accelerometer functionality, and includes 360-degree videos of famous landmarks around the world.
The app was announced during the Japanese version of Nintendo Direct earlier today, a web conference highlighting new hardware and software releases.
Nintendo will debut the service in Japan between January and March next year as a free download, before charging an unspecified fee for continued usage.
Availability in other territories is expected to be announced soon.
