The latest trailer focuses on 'The Commander', a former soldier who was in charge of closing the gates to the Metro system when the bombs dropped.
Once a decorated soldier with a family, he now lives off scraps in the Metro system, ostracised for his part in condemning thousands of innocent civilians to their death.
It is the latest part of the 'Survivor Stories' spinoff series similar to the 'Enter the Metro' trailer that debuted earlier this year.
Previous entries include 'The Model' and 'The Preacher'.
Metro: Last Light developer 4A Games recently branded the Wii U's processor as "horrible" and "slow".
The game will see the return of the original's bullet currency system, but made clearer and easier to use.
While it was announced with multiplayer, it has since been scrapped for the finished product to concentrate on the main campaign.
Metro: Last Light will be available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and was recently delayed until March 2013.
