The App Store listing suggests that the users will have the ability to download the original soundtrack, as well as countless post-release songs from the 3DS version.

It will also feature brand new characters, although Joystiq suggests that downloading every character and song would cost an estimated $150 (£92).

Compatible with the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (5th generation), iPad 2 onwards and iPad mini, the game will feature Twitter integration, giving users the opportunity to upload scores to the social networking site.

It also supports a Compose Scores mode, enabling users to create their own tunes and share them online.

The 3DS original merges the rhythm genre with traditional Final Fantasy battle scenes. Players must tap the stylus alongside on-screen prompts in order to fight.

It features 70 songs across all Final Fantasy titles, as well as characters including Cloud and Lightning from Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy XIII respectively.
