The highlight of patch 1.03 is a full extension of the 2v2 mode, which according to the game's head Jon Murphy, will bring the multiplayer mode in line with the core game.
Copyright: Konami"The key advance is a full extension of the 2v2 mode, which was highest on the fans' wish list," Murphy revealed.
"Although it was there before, it wasn't really what the fans expected so we have used this new update to make some key changes.
"While there was an acceptable 2v2 mode in the game, the team has worked to improve core elements to make it even more intuitive and to make it closer to the single-player experience, with better player switching."
The update also includes new goal celebrations, enhanced player movement and tweaks to some of the game's online modes.
PES 2013 made a number of changes this year, including FullControl for improved control options over every pass, shot and first touch.
Dribbling, meanwhile, has been slowed for the new game, giving players better close control of the ball, allowing them to hold it up within a 360-degree circle or nutmeg opposing players and run on to the loose ball.
Compatibility with the game's myPES Facebook app was introduced on all versions last month.
PES 2013 is available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
