'ARMA 3' postponed by Bohemia Interactive

ARMA 3 has been postponed by developer Bohemia Interactive until 2013.

The news comes as two of its staff remain in a Greek jail after being arrested on suspicion of spying while conducting research for the game in the vicinity of a Greek military base.

"We've been in the process of implementing changes that will help us innovate as a studio under unexpected circumstances - facing problems we simply couldn't have imagined," said project lead Joris-Jan van 't Land.

"We're still trying to make sense of the situation and hope that our colleagues will be released soon. Although their plight has certainly affected us on a personal level, we continue working on the tasks identified as key to the release of ARMA 3.

"I hope this update provides some answers regarding the status of the project. We're currently sorting the specifics so we can deliver a more complete announcement at the beginning of next year."

Bohemia's Ivan Buchta and Martin Pezlar, who have been detained for three months now, will stand trial for espionage offences in a Greek court and face up to 20 years behind bars if found guilty.

The studio said that the extra development time will be spent ensuring ARMA 3 reaches its "full potential".
