Dark Souls 2 may not be released in 2013, according to a report.

Edge claims that From Software has a significantly larger team working on the sequel, which is currently 25% complete.

The publication was told that the game will serve as a direct follow-up to the original Dark Souls with an in-game world of roughly the same size, but with more "density".

Dark Souls 2 will not take place in the world of Lordran, but the studio was unwilling to reveal its setting at this time because it is "key" to the storyline.

The game's Covenant system will reportedly be "clearer" and "more accessible" this time around, and a Morality system will be incorporated.

Dark Souls 2 is in the works for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. A fan petition to bring the game to Nintendo Wii U has also been launched.
