The game will be an original sequel to the popular freeware indie games Knytt and Knytt Stories. A hallmark of the platforming series has been an emphasis on exploring vast environments, and the newest title promises to continue that tradition.

It will take place in an underground world comprised of over 1,800 rooms, as players run, jump, climb, swing and bounce through story-driven quests.

Knytt Underground will be compatible with Sony's cross-buy feature, allowing users to purchase it once and be able to download it for both PS3 and Vita.

The game will be priced at $14.99 in North America and £9.99 in the UK. UK PlayStation Plus subscribers will also be able to download the game for free for a limited time.

Knytt Underground will also be released on PC, Mac and Linux, and is currently seeking support through Steam Greenlight for availability through Steam as well.
