New apps launching only in the US include the Vimeo, AOL On and Snagfilms apps. The US is also receiving an update to the Verizon FiOS app, which brings an additional 49 channels to the service through Xbox Live.

Meanwhile the Televisa and Azteca apps are now available to Xbox Live users in Mexico, and the Viaplay app now offers on demand television shows and movies in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Finally, the IGN app is now expanding to be available to users in Australia and New Zealand.

These apps are in addition to the ten that launched last week, which included the worldwide launch of Karaoke and Skydrive apps. Last week also saw the launch of CNET and Maxim apps in the US, while the Napster app launched in the UK.

Microsoft has promised that it will launch over 40 entertainment apps on Xbox Live between December 2012 and spring 2013, with new apps available in various Xbox Live regions each week.

There is also an ongoing sale on Xbox Live games as part of a countdown to 2013, with the game Kinect Party for free and discounts on LEGO Batman, Trials Evolution, Skyrim, Fez and The Walking Dead in the run-up to January.
