The cinematic trailer shows Dante walking through a rainy city as it twists and transforms into Limbo around him.
The video, which first aired in movie theatres, ends with a stylish battle as Dante introduces himself to one of the game's villains.
DmC: Devil May Cry will reboot the franchise, shifting the setting to a parallel universe with a younger, grittier Dante.
Dante will also partner with new character Kat, a skilled medium and psychic who guides him through her ability to see into Limbo, the demon realm.
The game is being developed by Ninja Theory, the team behind Enslaved: Odyssey To The West.
A demo is available now on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.
DmC: Devil May Cry will release for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 15, followed by the PC version on January 25.
