Successfully funded video game projects include Double Fine Adventure, Wasteland 2, Project Eternity and the record-breaking Star Citizen.

Recent video game successes include Peter Molyneux's Godus, Elite: Dangerous and the OUYA gaming platform.

Kickstarter has raised more than $340m (£211m) for entrepreneurs and projects since its launch in 2009, including the record of $10 million (£6,433,000) for the Pebble smartwatch last year.

In October, it opened its doors to UK projects and developers, taking a 5% cut of successfully funded projects.
