'Splinter Cell: Blacklist' release date announced

By
Splinter Cell: Blacklist has been given a release date in its latest trailer.

The stealth-action sequel will be available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC from August 20.

The video also reveals more about the game's story, where "protecting the president is just one part of Sam Fisher's global ambitions".

However, it fails to mention a Wii U version, which was reported to be in development last year.

Earlier this week a compilation named Ultimate Splinter Cell was outed on GAME's website.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist was unveiled during Microsoft's E3 press conference.

The game will feature Kinect integration, allowing players to distract enemies and call for support using voice commands.

A new Splinter Cell has been rumoured since the release of Conviction in 2010.

The game was outed in a promotional video by Ubisoft's Jade Redmond, who confirmed that the game would be developed entirely in Toronto.
