Updated: 'Star Wars 1313' online listing for PS3 "not accurate", says LucasArts

By
LucasArts has denied reports that Star Wars 1313 will be released on PS3 this year.

The title was recently listed on the PlayStation Germany Facebook page, suggesting it would launch on current generation platforms.

However, a statement from the publisher said that the report was "not accurate".

"Unfortunately we do not have any announcements to make at this time," a spokesperson told Polygon.

"At the same time, it is safe to say that this report is not accurate."

Announced ahead of last year's E3 Gaming Expo, players will control a deadly bounty hunter as he uses human skills and powerful weaponry and gadgets, rather than the Force, to hunt down targets.

It is said to take place in a "never-before-seen dark and mature world", and will bring the dangerous Coruscant underworld to life.

Stunning gameplay footage and the omission of platform information originally led to speculation that the game is running on next-generation hardware.

Disney recently acquired game studio LucasArts as part of its $4.05 billion (£2.5bn) deal to purchase Lucasfilm.

It is unclear what the Disney acquisition will mean for Star Wars 1313 and LucasArts as a studio, though it appears that there will be no changes in the immediate future.
