Its release will be preceded by an open beta, which kicks off on February 12 and runs until launch.
The decision to delay the game was taken on the advice of the Shootmania community, following a recent closed beta.
"The Nadeo's model of development has always been to be very close to the community, and following the release of the Beta 2 in December, we received a tremendous amount of information from the very active ShootMania community," explained Nadeo's Anne Bondel-Jouin.
"For a living, online multiplayer title like this the work is never done, but these extra few weeks will allow us to polish the game further and release it to the level of quality we think our players deserve."
Shootmania Storm is a first-person shooter geared towards the eSports sector, otherwise known as the professional video gaming scene.
A number of eSports professionals took part in a Shootmania demonstration at last year's E3 Gaming Expo, playing out a three-on-three encounter in the game's Elite mode.
The multiplayer first-person shooter is being developed by Nadeo Studio, who previously worked on the TrackMania racing franchise.
Like TrackMania, ShootMania: Storm will have an extensive map editor to create and share new levels over the game's ManiaPlanet 2.0 system.
