'Heavy Rain' developer Quantic Dream registers 'Singularity' for PS4

By
Heavy Rain developer Quantic Dream has registered a domain name for a PS4 project titled Singularity.

A November registration for 'SingularityPS4.com' was recently discovered by Kotaku sleuth Superannuation.

The filing is in line with previous Quantic Dream domain registrations, in which the developer files the title of the game followed by the platform.

Previous examples include 'heavyrainps3.com' and 'beyondps3.com'.

The filing also suggests that Sony's new device will be known as the PS4, instead of 'Orbis' as previously reported.

Studio head David Cage previously admitted that the studio's 'Project Kara' game engine demo was inspired by Ray Kurzweil's book The Singularity is Near, according to Eurogamer.
Unveiled at Sony's E3 press conference last year, Quantic Dream's next game, titled Beyond: Two Souls, explores the mysteries of death and tackles the subject of what lies on the other side.

David Cage previously described the game as "emotional, mature, unique" and "epic", explaining that its story will be shaped by the choices that players make.

Starring Juno actress Ellen Page, its script is said to have enough content to fill three or four movies.

Beyond: Two Souls will be released exclusively on the PlayStation 3 later this year.
