'Xenoblade Chronicles' sequel revealed for Wii U - first trailer

By
A Xenoblade Chronicles sequel has been announced for the Wii U.

The new Monolith Soft project was unveiled during today's Nintendo Direct presentation, alongside a gameplay trailer.

Though not officially named as a Xenoblade Chronicles sequel, it shares a similar gameplay style and the letter 'X' is seen at the video's conclusion.

The game will be directed by Tetsuya Takahashi, the man behind Xenoblade Chronicles and previously the Xenosaga series.

Nintendo also announced two new Legend of Zelda games, including a HD remake of GameCube adventure Wind Waker.

It also confirmed that a new Mario Kart and 3D Super Mario game would be playable at the E3 gaming expo in June.

Finally, Nintendo revealed a promotion to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Famicom in Japan, where each month until July one NES or SNES game will be available for just 30p.

The first title, Balloon Fight, is available to download at the discounted price from today.
