The sequel to the best-selling mobile game was released as a free download on both platforms, and features the same tilting and swiping controls as the original.

The update includes improved visuals and animations, as well as a more 'fluid' environment, with curves and hills replacing the original's flat terrain and sharp corners, as well as ziplines and mine carts.

There are also four playable characters, each with their own attributes and upgradable abilities.

The original Temple Run was downloaded 2.5 million times on Christmas Day, and hit 100 million downloads in under a year of release.
