'Black Ops 2' double XP weekend kicks off today until January 28

By
Black Ops 2 fans will be able to earn double XP this weekend, Activision has announced.

Available across Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, and PC, the weekend event begins tonight (January 25) at 6pm GMT (10am PST) and ends at the same time on Monday, January 28.
Users will have the option to boost their rank ahead of the launch of next week's 'Revolution' DLC, which will be available first on Xbox Live from January 29.

The add-on includes four new multiplayer maps called 'Hydro', 'Grind', 'Mirage' and 'Downhill' that introduce new environments and map hazards to multiplayer.

The popular Zombies mode also receives the new 'Die Rise' map and the Turned game mode where players actually control the zombies trying to defeat a single human player. Defeating the human lets players respawn as the new human, where they have to defend against the other zombies for points.

It will also include a new weapon called the Peacekeeper, which will function as a cross between an SMG and an assault rifle.

Black Ops 2 is available on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC.
