Episode seven moves the Spartan Ops story forward as Dr Catherine Halsey makes a dangerous deal.
Spartan Ops is a co-operative multiplayer mode with a new downloadable episode releasing each week over the course of several months. Episodes from the first season are free to download, and contribute to a self-contained storyline.
Episode seven features five new gameplay chapters and will be available as a free download on Xbox Live from January 28.
Developer 343 Industries has previously hinted that a second season of Spartan Ops will be announced following the conclusion of the first.
Halo 4 was released for Xbox 360 in November last year, with its launch accompanied by an extravagant aerial performance in London.
